EDP candidate Steve Uncles – in his own words

I always think it’s fairest to let someone speak for themselves rather than paraphrase them so, in the interests of fair play and democracy, here are the words of Steve Uncles, the English Democrat Party’s lead candidate for the South East Region in tomorrow’s EU elections.

Before Mr Uncles ‘speaks’, I’d just like to direct you again towards Boatang and Demetriou’s excellent blog which fills in many of the missing details about this fascinating person and some of his associates should you wish to find out more about them.

I’d also like to add that I will leave you to draw your own conclusions about Mr Uncles from his own words.

Steve Uncles, from the official English Democrat site:

I look forward to the day when I can celebrate my English Identity, without the implication that I am ‘Racist or a Bigot’ – pride in one’s Country is natural & healthy.

Steve Uncles on the British Democracy forum (permalink):

A Polish guy drinks his beer then suddenly throws his glass in the air, pulls out a pistol and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, ‘In Poland our glasses are so cheap that we don’t need to drink from the same glass twice’

A Pakistani, obviously impressed by this, drinks his beer, throws the glass into the air, pulls out his AK-47 and shoots the glass to pieces.

He says, ‘In Pakistan we have so much sand to make glasses that we don’t need to drink out of the same glass twice either.’

A English chap, cool as a cucumber, picks up his beer and drinks it, throws the glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the Pole and the Pakistani and catches his glass.

He says, ‘In England we now have that many Pakistanis and Poles that we don’t have to drink with the same ones twice.

God Bless England!

  1. Nice one Steve, this stuff is well worth highlighting.

For me, Uncles is your typical Wetherspoon’s Pub bore, minus any semblance of charm. He rants off, thinks he is so right about everything, yet ultimately no-one listens to him outside of his table of sad, scruffy hangers on and miscreants.

He knows nothing about politics, he can’t even spell out what his party’s policies are, he resorts to mindless abuse seemingly as a way of drumming up support and he doesn’t know when to shut up.

This bloke, however, isn’t just a pub bore – he’s the lead candidate for a political party in tomorrow’s elections.

You couldn’t make it up for a fiction novella.

  2. I couldn’t possibly comment…

  3. When I saw the (surprisingly mild and dewy-eyed) EngDem election broadcast a couple of weeks ago, I wondered if it was a different party from the bunch of racist nutters I recalled from a previous election a couple of years back. The same nutters, it seems, except some of their marketing people are clearly trying to do a BNP-style PR job on them… unsuccessfully, it would seem 🙂

  5. Excellent work.

I think with these sort of stories starting arise aswell as the conduct of the EDP organisers on the Doncaster Forums is really starting to paint a picture of the party far different from their ‘neither left nor right’ and non-racist image they are trying to cultivate with for example their flashy party political broadcast.

I don’t think it will take too long into Mr Davis’ term until the true nature of the EDP starts manifest itself in the public eye.

  6. Curian6 – great that you could ‘pop by’!
If you fancy sticking around and seeing how Boatang and Demetriou fared with the EDP then please do – the link to their site is in the left hand column.
The BD Forum is worth reading.
You’ll find the tactics of Kim Gandy and ben weald in use there, too.
Uncles is amazing – he’s currently banned on there for wishing that someone who didn’t agree with him would commit suicide, although the post has been removed.
I’m really not saying that all EDP members are like the ones that we’ve both disagreed with – just that many of the prominent members of it seem to behave in a manner and make statements that seem at odds with their public image and declared policies.
I wonder how many people really know who and what they’re helping to support when they voted Davies in.
The name thing is a watered down version of the old ‘we know where you live’ ruse. Yes, it’s intimidation of a sort and makes you wonder how far they’d go.
But, please, stick around – stay in touch – it could be interesting.

  7. Steve-Followed your comments(and many others) on Doncaster Free with interest.I think its fairly clear from the comments made by ED members on there and other places they are hiding their true colours and you are not going to get any proper answers.

Anyway my intention was to post this podcast link for your amusement -its the New Mayor interviewed on Toby Fosters show BBC South Yorkshire this morning…doesn’t inspire much. The interview starts about a third of the way into the recording.

  8. Ooh…many thanks Rhubarbncustard – I’ve just heard about this but couldn’t seem to find it in iplayer.
It’s supposed to be a bit of a turkey shoot apparently – with Davies being the turkey.
    Will listen asap.
    Thanks again!

  9. You’re welcome….Someone has commented on Doncaster Free that Toby does not know how democracy works, clearly from the interview its the other way around.
Anyone going for a job normally does their homework first, clearly in this case the appointee hasn’t.
Also any fool knows not to be interviewed until they are in charge of the facts.
Does Doncaster really deserve this after the crud endured over the last few years..its lamentable.

  10. I’ve listened and it’s great – Toby nailed him good.
I’ve just replied to the guy who thought Toby didn’t know hoe democracy works.
If that’s the standard of support that Davies has then heaven help the fool.

  11. mm yes definately will, I think it’ll be interesting how this unfolds.

according to their official supporters group on facebook, one of their advocates on the Doncaster thread has been emailed for permission to print their comment, have you had anything similiar? I think it would be a pretty gross representation if they printed a pro-davies comment, despite the fact that people were overwhelmingly against them, and the fact that we closed them down completely with them resorting to threats before finally backing down.

out of interest did anyone see the interview on BBC Look North? he didn’t come off well at all. it also comes to no surprise to me he’s a daily mail reader.

I found out too he was kicked out the tories in the 80’s for tax evasion or something from one of his ex-pupils, and his son is still a Tory MP. interesting stuff.

  12. Hi Curian – glad you could come back.
    I haven’t been approached, no.
I’ve heard some interesting stuff too, but nothing I can substantiate.
As they say, watch this space.
I have a small but interesting ace that I’m going to play if I can show it in the right direction.

  13. oooh Steve THAT will be fun 🙂

Having read the DFP forum and the ED face book page almost constantly of late, I think its becoming more and more obvious that despite their repeated denials of racism and homophobia and that they are the moderate party of reason, the content of many of the contributors instantly flies in the face of their almost rabid denials.
I have seen enough comments along the lines of ‘I voted BNP in the EU and English Democrat in the UK elections’ – kind of says it all really.

Almost all want a mono cultural England based totally on the right of the indigenous (white) population to assert its dominance to the exclusion of all else and a hostility toward immigration to variable degrees…..I seem to remember these exact same sentiments at the time of the formation of the National Front ,later the BNP and countless other White supremacist minority parties.

We all know that Nick Griffin is the face of ‘moderate reason’ in the BNP many of its members hate him and consider him a traitor for being so ‘liberal’ but his image is, as we know, a manipulation to make the BNP more attractive.
I can’t help feeling that something on similar lines is being followed in the ED, marketing them for maximum appeal and its notable that most of the outspoken brash commentators of that party have suddenly refrained- no doubt on advice- from commenting on public forums and thus exposing their true nature and adopted the ‘shouting in capitals’ that they are against racism when they do comment….am I convinced? …Nope!

Its also obvious that anyone who disagrees with them is instantly dismissed and branded as an “unwashed” “lefty”,”liberal”, “socialist scum” “misguided lunatic fringe” etc (but never Tory which kind of suggests something) and major theatrical histrionics from some of their key spokespeople when surrounded by an audience of friends of their own ilk.

Its also notable their are a small minority of moderates increasingly frustrated with the majority of the more radical comments and expressions therein.
I wonder how long they will stick around when they realize that what they got into is not what they first thought.

The membership interest continues to rise but there seems to be a constant theme -that its ‘the only party that speaks for the victimized Englishman in his own country over whelmed by ‘tens’ of millions of foreigners and swamped by foreign culture and foreign benefit scroungers ‘criminals’ and sooooo many laws stopping them vocalizing their disgust at them’

In more simple words the stereotypical white bigot.

I don’t have a lot of time for ‘party’ politics because by adopting the policy of one party you are inevitably excluding the rights and wishes of those who do not support that party and this seems as true with the ED’s.
I am glad there are people like you and JD who are prepared to shout loudly and expose people for what they are regardless of which political party or background they belong, we share a common purpose there.

Keep up the good work 🙂

  14. Let’s face it, you can’t touch us on our lead policy of an English Parliament.

Therefore, you sad individuals, simply fabricate, your false stories about Homophobia and Racism.

    – When are you going to address the REAL issues ??

  15. Since when have I accused the EDP of being a homophobic or racist party?

At least get your facts right when you’re attempting some sort of debate.

C’mon, your party has more Facebook fans than the Tories – you can do better than this.

Nice ISP address you have there – seems familiar, too.
