What a long strange year…

…it’s been…

My father died exactly a year ago today and since then I’ve had to deal with coroners, undertakers, council officials, tax bastards, solicitors and the people who bought my father’s flat off me but no estate agents! It was a private sale.

The worst of the grief and loss seems to be over, although that’s now been replaced with a different sort of loss as our daughter and our grandson moved away from Milton Keynes to the Forest of Dean last Saturday.

We’re also on the move now, having gone from people with a mortgage, a poxy endowment and zero savings to people with no mortgage and with savings.

France looks a definite provided the whole financial system doesn’t go tits up over the next year or so.

So, the coming year could be even stranger…
